Mubadala is developing the Al Maryah Waterfront, a new waterfront destination on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi. This project aims to enhance the island's lifestyle offerings and solidify Abu Dhabi's position as a leading global destination. The announcement coincides with other significant developments in the city, including a Disney theme park and a Bulgari luxury project.
The centerpiece of the Al Maryah Waterfront will be a 30-meter-tall luminous sphere surrounded by flowing water and over 1,000 AI-powered water jets choreographed to music by Ramin Djawadi. The project, designed by WET, will also feature a sea boardwalk extension, a shaded outdoor cooling system, and new food and beverage zones, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
According to Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of UAE Investments at Mubadala, the project is a strategic investment to elevate the quality of life and offer diverse experiences. The development will serve as a dynamic backdrop for public life, attracting global visitors and supporting the capital's tourism goals. Mubadala already has several assets on Al Maryah Island, including the One Maryah Place, a twin-tower with premium office space, developed in partnership with Aldar.
