The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Dubai Design Awards 2025 celebrated architectural excellence and innovation on June 28 at the Bluewaters Forum, Delano Dubai. The event recognized outstanding projects, firms, and visionaries, showcasing Dubai's evolving role in global design. The awards highlighted landmark projects and rising stars, with a special focus on Expo City Dubai's potential.

This year's event introduced Aurora, an AI-powered virtual host developed by SparksLab Technology, a Filipino-led team. Aurora's intelligent and engaging delivery, along with the Filipino-led development of the app and content, underscored the event's theme of merging innovation with heritage. The awards covered 16 categories, honoring projects like Nad Al Sheba Mall, Mama Shelter Dubai, and various residential and concept designs.

Key awards included Young Global Filipino Architect of the Year (Amon Cali), Global Filipino Architect of the Year (Royal Pineda), and Architecture Firm of the Year (Gensler Middle East). The judging panel comprised international design experts, ensuring the awards' integrity and global relevance. Christian Vasquez was re-elected as UAP Dubai Chapter President, signaling a focus on cross-border collaboration and member development.

The UAP Dubai Chapter plans to launch executive roundtables, masterclasses, mentorship programs, and global webinars. These initiatives aim to enhance members' global competitiveness through continuous learning and innovation. The UAP, founded in 1975, is the official professional organization for Filipino architects, with over 60,000 members worldwide, committed to advancing professional standards and international collaboration.
